These pictures are from a diorama that Robert Swan made for my Dad. The diorama depicts the Yorktown & Hughes on that fateful day in history. It gives you a better concept of how close they were. Robert's father also served on the Hughes from 1943 to 1945.   Roberts Dad was a CW Radio Operator 2C and was on board in December 1944 when a Japanese kamikaze smashed into the engine room of the Hughes.
